Interior... Complete for now...

As finished as it gets for now!
Ready to set sail! Anyone have a crane? Should probably keep trying to finish up the interior a little more..

Spring 2015, Tattersail's 40th anniversary

With the arrival of spring, comes a final effort to complete the Refit!

This leaves us with one major project... Interior finishings.
Cabin soul progresses... clearly I din't get to the fiberglass stage quick enough on the companionway platform :(

The Cabin

Now that jack frost is here almost every night and yardwork and landscaping the new land has come to the end of phase one, here begins Tattersail's final interior build phase.

It all starts with a plan.

What you see here was done shortly after the engine was installed in June 2013.
Main bulkheads, benches and galley.

Some electrical started also...
No longer hollow :)

And now my first step in this final phase,  the floors!

White Ash.
Featuring full length boards, the grain is continuous throughout the 4 cabin soul panels. The nose piece is TBD, possibly a red/white cedar inlay to match the planed cedar theme in the master cabin.

Closer to Home

Spring 2014 is here! and gone... hmmm Summer 2014 might not be the year.

Tattersail has made the trip on land away from the original refit site to beside our house where the final phase of the refit will take place.

Although the boat can navigate, it is our wish to have a completed vessel with all luxury's finished and working before launch!

*-*-*

Meanwhile, our smaller DS16 has been taken out on the water and got a fresh coat of paint to match Tattersail.

Time for a third?

Companionway

Mostly made of cedar and some ash trim, the companionway has started to take shape!

Would you brave crossing the plank?

As you can see the topside paint is done and windows have been installed as well, getting very close to being entirely waterproof.
